Sketch of the week: Affordable housing, New York

This week’s #buildingdoodle sketch is by Fernando Villa, design principal at Magnusson Architecture & Planning, and is a concept sketch for the Livonia phase 2 HPD RFP 2014. He says: ” The ‘L2’ is an innovative new high quality, affordable housing project developed on four difficult sites along elevated train lines in Brooklyn, NY. The sketch illustrates the sensitive building massing and contemporary facades inspired by the masonry buildings of the area and the silver metal subway trains. The design softens the existing hardscape with creative planting and unexpected views.”
