Construction Specialities has launched Acrovyn Hydroclad, a wall covering developed for use in hygienically sensitive locations such as operating theatres, hospital kitchens and laboratories

The system has an impervious, impact-resistant surface that, the company says, provides no harbour for germs, fungi or bacteria. Frequent cleaning will not degrade its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Hydroclad is available in white and five colours, is fire-rated to BS 476 Class 1 and is resistant to chemicals, acids, alkalis and grease. It is supplied in 2mm sheets that can be applied to the wall with adhesive. Jointing options include mastic or trim sections or, for a superior hygienic finish, sheets may be welded.
