Thompson’s 10-year roof seal has been developed to provide weather protection for complete roofs or large areas of remedial sealing.
The elastomeric formulation forms a membrane that flexes with the roof and, according to the company, will not crack or split as bitumen coatings do, even in extreme weather. The two-coat treatment protects asphalt, slate, tile, felt, brick, concrete, asbestos, metal and wood roofs. It can also be used on top of old coatings and does not require a primer. The company has also developed a patch repair product that it claims has the resilience of an elastomeric roof seal, but with added fibres and an acrylic polymer to form a strong bridge between the good areas of the roof, which can be fully rainproofed in just six hours.
