Cladding specialist James & Taylor has created the shimmering, high-tech facade for the £17m maternity unit at Southern General hospital in Glasgow
The effect was created by using five different acid-etched processes on Senses aluminium tiles with an anodised finish. James & Taylor worked with architect Hypostyle to design a “random” pattern to ensure the different finishes were distributed cohesively across the elevations. The company supplied 500m2 of its Senses aluminium rainscreen system and 553m2 of its Alphaton terracotta Rainscreen system in Hellgrau (light grey).
