Olympic venues
1. The Laoshan Velodrome
The 33,320m2 venue, which holds 6,000 spectators, is where Britain hopes to taste the most success, after the nine cycling gold medals it won in the Manchester world championships
2. The National Indoor Stadium
This 80,900m2 venue is dwarfed by the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube. The plan is for it to “serve as a multi-functional exercise centre for local residents” after the Games
3. The Beijing Shooting Range
The first of the new venues to be completed, the 45,645m2 facility is located to the west of the main Olympic Green
4. Shunyi Olympic Rowing and Canoeing Park
Located beyond the new Terminal 3 at Beijing airport, the rowing centre can seat 27,000 spectators and has been open since 8 August last year
