Timber importer John Brash has developed a quality control system that pre-grades roofing battens at the sawmill.

The high-precision scanning procedure involves optical and laser scanning, which the company says ensures that every batten passed down its production line is analysed, with defects being measured and assessed for acceptability against prescribed profiling criteria.
