CGII’s Fireswiss Foam is ensuring visitors enjoy a safe view of the famous Flying Scotsman at a new interactive exhibition at the National Railway Museum, York. The fully insulated fire glass has been used in large glazed panels in a specially constructed viewing platform overlooking the locomotive.

‘The Flying Scotsman Story’ at the museum includes drawings, models, uniforms and audiovisual displays to illustrate the history of this icon of a bygone age.

Fireswiss Foam will provide protection in the event of a fire, and shield the public from heat and smoke generated by the powerful steam engine.

Fireswiss Foam has a Certifire listing for use in both metal and timber frames and doors up to a massive size of more than 3000mm x 2000mm, a potential area per panel of almost 7m. The windows were installed by Sorrell (York) Ltd.
