The National Science Museum in Swindon has chosen Rafiki Protection’s Sita product to protect the precious artefacts contained within its new storage and library facilities.

Specified and installed by Crown Security of Swindon, the 200-device Sita fire detection system was installed as part of a comprehensive refurbishment programme.

The aim of the programme was to make the new site an environmentally controlled, secure and well-protected location for the collection of rare books and records.

The building is maintained at a constant 15°C temperature and 60% humidity.

The fire detection system has been optimised for the environment.

Crown Security of Swindon recommended using a number of Sita flashpoints on the loop, giving staff an early, audible and visual indication of any fire hazard.
