This week’s poll: Should MPs move out of the Palace of Westminster to allow essential works to carried out?
Last night (31 January), MPs voted to leave the Palace of Westminster while significant repair work takes place at the grade I listed structure. Peers in the House of Lords are expected to follow suit with their vote, with work not expected to start until 2025.
It is expected to cost at least £3.5bn, with Parliament relocated to Whitehall for around six years.
But was it the right call?
