Why are this year’s Bond Street Christmas lights modelled around the motif of peacock feathers
This year’s Bond Street Christmas lights were modelled around the motif of peacock feathers, a theme that took its inspiration from “Bond Street loungers” – dapper men who promenaded the street in the 1700s showing off the latest fashions like peacocks.
The £1m decorations feature over one million LED lights. In October it was announced that the iconic London shopping area is set to undergo a £20m redevelopment, the first major work that has been done on the street for 30 years.
