TO IMPROVE SECURITY AT Norfolk-based racing car engineering services company Racing Technology Norfolk, automated gate and barrier systems courtesy of FAAC (UK) have been installed by UK contractor Ansador.

Entry and exit to the site’s main car park is controlled by two FAAC 620 Rapid barriers, which are designed to raise to three metres in under two seconds. Access control is via proximity card readers and a telephone-based audio intercom which makes use of the company’s existing internal telephone system. Visitors to the site contact the telephone extension of the employee they are visiting from the barrier. Once the employee has established that the visitor is legitimate, the barrier can be raised via the telephone extension.

The FAAC 620 is recognised by end users who have specified it as a versatile unit intended for all kinds of traffic volumes, incorporating a self-regulating oil temperature control to enable uninterrupted flow during heavy traffic.

For security of the site’s delivery area, Ansador’s engineers have installed a pair of stainless hydraulic rams automated by FAAC 400 operators. They provide automation for gates of up to seven metres during high traffic flows.
