xVista – the Leeds-based technical solutions provider – is capitalising on the rapid growth of the global biometrics market following the development of its portable iris scanning and verification system.

Offering potential security applications across commercial markets including mobile telecoms, consumer electronics, banking and aviation (as well as potential military use), the system is believed to be the first that can be housed within compact, low power computing systems such as the standard camera mobile phone, and was developed as part of a £1.8 million partnership with research scientists at the University of Sussex.

xVista’s technology is designed to discreetly and securely map the iris for individual characteristics.
