‘At K2, we recognise the importance of efficient ventilation, and when developing our roof vent, we invested extensively in research and development’ comments K2’s Technical Director, Barry McMahon.
‘We were determined to develop a product that would be proven to be leakproof and would also incorporate the latest innovations and technology, making it both practical and visually appealing.’
K2’s roof vent incorporates a range of ‘intelligent’ features including the option of both rain and temperature sensors. The temperature sensor is useful in both summer and winter, as it causes the vent to open when the conservatory temperature rises and automatically closes when the temperature falls.
K2’s roof vent boasts includes an integral drainage system, slim sight lines for aesthetic appearance and an integrated bead and packer. A sash and outer frame are extruded in PVC-U and adapt to accept 16 mm 24/25 mm or 35mm glazing. Vents can be glazed with either polycarbonate or glass. The K2 vent is also available in a range of different foiled colour options, and is suitable for use with other roof systems on the market.
K2 put the finished vent through a rigorous testing procedure within an independently controlled environment. A one metre square sample of the vent was submitted to over 300 Pascals of air and water, with no recorded leakages of either water or air.
