12:10PM Acquisitive listed property group buys third firm in the last 18 months

Listed property consultancy Erinaceous has bought QS and project management outfit Monaghans, its third acqusition in the sector in the last 18 months. The deal, struck late last month, follows the deal in the Spring to buy Rose Project Services and the acquisition of Midlands outfit Francis Graves last summer.

Monaghans has a turnover of £4.5m and employs a workforce of 65 people across its key bases of Sheffiled, Kendall, London, Manchester and Edinburgh. The firm works mainly in the retail and leisure sectors.

Monaghans chief executive Craig Hibbert said: "Our growth will be greatly assisted by joining Erinaceous. As a young, dynamic team, becoming part of Erinaceous is the right fit for us, aligning our brand name with other key companies in the group, and indeed the market. It will allow us to share resources, grow our core skills and obtain larger commissions as well as providing individuals with better prospects and career growth. We are very much looking forward to becoming part of the group”.

Erinaceous Group chief executive Neil Bellis added: “Monaghans fits exactly with Erinaceous’ policy of geographical expansion and a deepening of our service range and delivery. We are delighted to welcome the new team on board.”
