Energy company E.ON has appointed Michael Woodhead as managing director of its Sustainable Energy business.
Woodhead will be based at E.ON’s offices in Newstead, Nottinghamshire and is to report to Don Leiper, MD of E.ON Energy Services.
Woodhead joins the company from Mitie PFI Ltd, where he also held the role of managing director and where he enjoyed success developing its facilities management business in the education sector, through private finance initiatives.
Woodhead said: “With carbon reduction and energy consumption management close to the top of everyone’s agenda, there are tremendous opportunities, especially through new and emerging technologies. There seems to be a general consensus that time is not on our side. We need to get beyond any inertia and help people understand the need for carbon reduction - we can’t afford to still be talking about it in 10 years’ time.”
