The IFSEC Security Innovation Awards 2007 will acknowledge the people, products and technological advancements that have played a big part in the shaping the industry over the past year, says organiser CMPi.

Taking place at Birmingham's Hilton Metropole Hotel during the evening of IFSEC's opening day, 21 May 2007, the awards are judged by a panel of industry experts, including representatives from the BSIA, the General Defence Diversification Agency, and Police Scientific Development Branch.

The deadline for entries is Friday, 2 March. Categories include: best new access control product; best new CCTV product; best new IP security product; best new physical security product; best new intruder alarm product; security industry personality of the year; and the security industry leadership award. An overall 'Best of the Best' award will be presented to the entry that the judges believe is the most innovative of the year.

IFSEC event director James Blue said: "The Security Industry Innovation Awards are always a great night out and a fantastic chance to network with colleagues and peers. What better way to showcase your success than by winning an award in front of over 600 senior industry figureheads?"
