The Distance Learning Course for Energy Efficient Building Ventilation project held a second evaluation workshop for its distance learning training material on 12 July at the Queens Building, De Montfort University. The event was hosted by Dr Malcolm Cook of the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development.

Organised by BSRIA and supported by the CIBSE Natural Ventilation Group, the EU-funded project’s principal aim is to develop distance learning material on the topic of building ventilation in order to meet the needs of CPD and masters level programmes.

Representatives from a number of industry and CPD providers in the UK, as well as academics and students, attended the evaluation and made valuable contributions. The seminar concluded with a presentation and a guided tour of the Queens Building, which is one of the first purposely designed naturally ventilated educational buildings in the UK, making it an ideal venue for the occasion.

The workshop presentations are available on the project’s website, while pilot distance training starts this month.
