Regarding the article by Mike Cahalane “Don’t scrap BS4737” in the May edition of Security Installer: I totally agree.
How on earth are us installers supposed to work to standards that are draft copies. Just look at the mess the draft copy of DD243 has caused.

I understand things have got in the way of these standards being finished but over ten years later they still haven’t put petty differences aside to the greater good.

I certainly don’t want to buy yet another set of standards only to have them replaced because they haven’t been quite finished so parts B, C and D follow.

So my words to the GW/1 committee are to “stop arguing over where you are going to meet or who gets the most travelling expenses and don’t dare take our BS4737 away until you’re good and ready, which maybe some time yet”
