IMS Research has conducted a report on IP-based network video products in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region and estimates that the market for network cameras and video servers is expected to grow to EUR 151.1 million by 2008.
It estimates average annual market growth rates for the coming five years at 28.4 per cent for network cameras and 30.3 per cent for video servers. The report is based on interviews with more than 50 companies in the industry and on data and statistics derived from relevant news sources, annual reports and the internet.

Entitled “The EMEA market for CCTV and Video Surveillance Equipment”, the report has also identified Axis Communications as a clear leader within the market. In the network camera segment, it found that Axis has a 59.8 per cent market share, while in the video server segment it has a market share of 35.4 per cent.

In the overall market share estimates for CCTV and video surveillance solutions, including analogue CCTV equipment, Axis is ranked at number 13 as a result of the growth in IP-based solutions. A few years ago, digital solutions represented about two per cent of the market.
