Emcor is playing its part in the City’s newest addition to its commercial office stock.

The contractor is using Daikin’s inverter controlled VRV heat recovery air conditioning for the 15 Fetter Lane, EC4 development.

The new air conditioning system comprises 33 VRV heat recovery systems. These supply 220 fan coil units, located within the false ceilings on each floor and ducted to linear grilles around the ceiling perimeter and central core of the building.

Indoor design temperature is set at 21°C, plus or minus 2°C, in both summer and winter. Each floor is divided into three zones. Each zone is handled by its own VRV system and, when tenanted, its own Daikin I-controller. This allows the landlord to monitor electrical consumption and apportion its costs on a tenant basis.

Overall control is provided by a Daikin I-manager located in the ground floor control room. The I-manager will continue its control and management functions for no less than 48 hours if the central computer crashes.
