Dedicated research facilities to develop new services for customers and train the next generation of engineers
Emcor Group (UK) has launched an innovation academy, in partnership with the City of Wolverhampton College.
The Emcor UK Innovation Academy provides research facilities dedicated to developing the latest services and techniques for customers, as well as training Emcor employees, apprentices and college students.
The main focus of the academy will be to develop innovative and sustainable electrical, mechanical and public health construction methods, implement lean construction techniques, and trial new products and tools.
The Emcor UK Innovation Academy will also enable demonstration projects to be constructed and tested in an off-site environment, and will become a centre of knowledge excellence by ensuring the resulting skills and solutions are shared with Emcor’s customers and throughout the supply chain through innovation workshops and best practice guides.
The academy will also provide a training suite, which will become Emcor’s main centre for training and work based learning for apprentices and employees. Students at the City of Wolverhampton College will have the opportunity to learn in both live and trial environments, and will be offered work placements and site visits to Emcor’s projects.
“Emcor UK is delighted to be launching this industry leading initiative that will deliver tangible benefits to our customers and contribute to the development of the next generation of engineers,” commented John Matthews, managing director of Emcor Engineering Services.
