EIC has completed work on St George’s Tower in Leicester.

The m&e contractor finished the two-year, £3.3m contract with Pettifer Construction in April and is now waiting to hear if it has secured further related work.

The £18m project has involved the transformation of the 22-floor glass-and-concrete block, formerly the BT Tower and the second tallest building in the East Midlands.

The new scheme incorporates retail, commercial and luxury residential units, and the two ground floors have been set aside for parking.

Electrical installations include the landlord’s high-voltage and low-voltage distribution system, including new HV and LV switchgear, two new transformers, general lighting and power, lift power supplies, CCTV, door access and fire alarm, security and intruder alarms.

Mechanical work included the landlord’s mechanical services, cold water tanks, water booster pumps, hot and cold water distribution system, gas supplies, ventilation and a building management system.

EIC also installed domestic electrics, plumbing, gas and heating in the 24 luxury flats at the top of the building.
