The Electrical Contractors’ Insurance Company (ECIC) has launched a new underwriting arm, Facilitas, which specialises in the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) market.

The service is available exclusively via insurance brokers, through the Facilitas internet-based cover and quotation system for package insurance.

This provides brokers with a quick and easy means of obtaining quotations, cover and policy documentation instantly from their desks.

Bill Adamson, managing director of ECIC, says: “We are delighted to have acquired the Facilitas team, who bring considerable experience of the SME sector.

“This represents a further diversification of the products offered by our EC Insurance Group. Facilitas is fast and is already in great demand from our broker partners. We believe it is a real winner.”
