The ECA and union Unite-Amicus have finally agreed a three-year pay deal for electricians which was first put forward by the Joint Industry Board in April.
The package consists of a 14.8% pay rise over the period, based on a 38-hour week: 4.67% in 2008, 4.5% in 2009 and 5% in 2010.
Union members refused the wage offer at the end of June and a JIB/SJIB national ballot was held. However, of 17,340 papers sent out only 4150 were returned, so the offer was accepted without any improvement from the ECA.
