Bi-folding alumium doors and windows are the latest new product from Duration Windows.
The multi-faceted fabricator, based in Canvey Island, Essex, has a track record of innovative niche products, and after June’s high temperatures these items could be just the thing for commercial and domestic applications.
‘I believe that these will overtake patio doors’, claims Duration founder and Managing Director Brian Chelton. Aluminium fabrication, always an important part of the business, is around 80 per cent of turnover these days. In response to rising alumium prices, Duration sourced profiles from a Greek supplier and subsequently developed the bi-folding products.
The bi-folding doors, when used with a triple-track, slide and fold to give a ‘two thirds’ opening. Doors and windows are tested in a jig prior to despatch. Duration is also now stocking an aluminium skinned composite door, and the example in the company’s show area was equipped with fingerprint ‘E-key’ locking.
Range of products
Duration Windows manufactures a tremendous range of products from its five factories, including vertical sliding windows.
Another new product is a stable door with seven-point locking. Duration has set up a shop within the Ebay website to promote the door.
The company will soon introduce online ordering. On a recent visit, Tony Cook, IT Manager, demonstrated a system that allows the user to specify window and door details such as gasket colour, threshold and RAL colour.
