Outstanding durability and enhanced energy conservation characteristics are combined with ease of application in the DuraSeal warm edge sealant system, says supplier Tremco.

Developed in America by TruSeal Technologies Inc., this product represents a new generation of combined sealant/ spacer/ desiccants, capable of sealing IG units and offering superior resistance to moisture vapour transmission. DuraSeal features an integral corrugated spacer and laminated construction.

DuraSeal can be utilised in the production of double and triple glazed units. It is also possible to employ the system in conjunction with a secondary seal in dual seal units.

DuraSeal fully conforms to the requirements of prEN1279-4 for edge seal performance. Independent testing has proved that correctly designed and manufactured IG units sealed with DuraSeal will meet the requirements of prEN1279-2, and Argon-filled IG units incorporating DuraSeal and an appropriate secondary sealant will meet the requirements of prEN1279-3.

Tremco also offers IG manufacturers advice on how to integrate the new sealant/ spacer/ desiccant system into their production lines.
