Nottinghamshire-based Silverdale Tours needed to protect a fleet of more than 50 vehicles garaged at its new headquarters in Colwick.
CCTV
Remote video monitoring
Access control
With coaches sometimes valued in excess of £300,000 each, and vandalism and break-ins occurring on neighbouring sites, security was a necessity.
Based on previous experiences, managing director Sean Doherty looked at remote video monitoring – and, specifically, Remote Video Response (RVR). Consequently, the new depot boasts static cameras and Honeywell Security domes. These cameras have been integrated with the access control set-up to see and record who enters and leaves the site both in normal office hours and out-of-hours. Images are then transmitted over IP using Fast-Vu technology, being received at the remote central station located in Gloucester.
RVR is among the first to offer end users specific, digitised site maps which allow operators to familiarise themselves with each site.
