The ODPM has asked round-four arm’s-length management organisations to change the timing of projected refurbishment programmes to “avoid expenditure peaks”.
The news came as housing minister Keith Hill announced the 14 round-four ALMOs would get at least 80% of the money they bid for.
They asked for £1.7bn last October so they should receive about £1.35bn.
Gwyneth Taylor, senior policy officer for the National Federation of ALMOs, said: “The ALMOs will work with the ODPM to ensure as sensible as possible a spread of funding over the years.”
The ODPM has also confirmed that Manchester and Bury councils have been accepted on the fourth round after being told in May to work harder on their bids.
