imasecurenet – a new company that remotely monitors and controls CCTV cameras at its clients' sites – is using Dolphin's Networked Radio Service for vital communication between its Control Centre and roving camera installers at end user premises.
The cameras are connected to a local service control unit on site for the picture to be relayed over the Internet in real-time to imasecurenet's Control Room. The security manager/officers can then view the transmitted pictures and instruct the engineers as to how to position the cameras to a high degree of accuracy.
Ian Arnold, who's deployed in imasecurenet's Control Room, is particularly pleased with Dolphin's press-to-talk function, which gives instant, nationwide, free-of-charge communication between handsets at the touch of a button. Arnold and his colleagues use the press-to-talk facility when monitoring the effects from static and PTZ cameras. This dramatically cuts installation time and cost for the end user.
In addition, imasecurenet uses state-of-the-art CCTV technology, which divides the CCTV pictures into smaller squares whereby each one is an alarm 'zone' in its own right. Specific areas of the picture can then be designated as alarm or non-alarm zones as necessary.
