The Dolphin national Networked Radio Service is keeping the London Borough of Wandsworth's Street Patrollers in touch as they go about their community duties in support of the Metropolitan and Parks Police Forces.
London's Street Patrollers in Tooting and the Clapham Junction area represent a new initiative by the Council, providing assistance to the local police by tackling vandalism and abandoned cars, etc.
To help them communicate, each Patroller has been equipped with a Dolphin d700 radio handset (the Parks Police Operations Centre in Battersea Park and the main CCTV Control Room for the operation boasting Cleartone d210 despatchers).
An extension of the service – making it available to local security managers on an emergency basis – is currently being discussed.
