CCTV specialist Dedicated Micros is a finalist in two categories of the National Business Awards 2006.

DM's TransVu Media mobile digital CCTV recording system has been nominated for the Orange 'Best Use of Technology in Business Award'.The TransVu Media allows operators to combine security and vehicle management with the ability to deliver travel information and advertising to passengers on the move. The company's MultiMode Recording capability, incorporated in the DS2 and DV-IP DVRs, has been named as a finalist in the 'Business Innovation of the Year' category.

MultiMode dynamically switches the resolution, quality, compression and frame rate of digital CCTV images, ensuring smooth motion video in the background and higher detail images for evidence when there is an incident.

• ANOTHER COMPANY IN THE running for one of the awards is Northampton-based Vision Security Group, a finalist in the 3i 'Growth Strategy of the Year' category.

Winners will be announced at a gala dinner at London's Grosvenor House on November 7, hosted by BBC TV's Fiona Bruce.

• BRADFORD-BASED PD Technology Ltd has been recognised for RollerTec, a leading wireless safety edge remote control solution for the roller shutter/garage door industry, in the Construction Products Association's Innovation and Achievement Awards 2006.
