Dedicated Micros has delivered an advanced CCTV solution to provide effective security at ITV Granada's headquarters in Manchester

Four of its latest NetVu Connected Digital Sprite 2 (DS2) network-capable DVRs (featuring NetVu ObserVer software), four Dennard 2060 outdoor dome cameras and a KBS3A remote digital keyboard have been supplied by Dedicated Micros and Gardiner Security to provide an advanced protection regime at ITV Granada's Manchester hq - home to legendary soap Coronation Street.

A key feature of the DS2 units is the flexibility provided by their powerful MultiMode recording capability (which allows ‘dynamic switching' from MPEG4, low resolution, continuous information grade recording through to high resolution, evidential quality JPEG images on alarm while still streaming in either format from the same camera).

The KBS3A remote keyboard - complete with the all-important PTZ control - is situated in the Security Gatehouse, and is able to communicate with the rack-mounted DS2 DVRs over a standard 485 bus connection.
