ADI-GARDINER's Integrated Systems Division has launched a series of IP and network initiatives for installers and integrators.
The support services for the IT or security installer will include bespoke training, on-site support to reduce installation time and a range of 'out of the box' solutions.
Support features ADSL router configuration to a customer's specific requirements. The company can also supply PCs and servers to similar specifications for whatever quantity of cameras or hardware, frames per second and length of storage required. PCs are supplied either pre-configured to receive a customer's own software, or pre-installed with a Milestone solution.
Said Integrated Systems Product Manager Ray Ashby: "We have added to our staff in this area and the industry is seeing that training and supporting installers in a real-life environment is a major advantage to IT resellers and is giving added value to customers."
Training and on-site support covers any size of installation, from projects incorporating about a dozen cameras, to major networks employing over 100 cameras. The company has worked with engineers in many markets, notably education and retail.
Training includes a Milestone Enterprise accreditation course, for engineers wanting to move into high-end software. This is a comprehensive two day course on the Milestone Enterprise 6 server based software, covering topology, administrator and end user applications, installation checklist, installation preparation, architecture and certification test.
Another two day course covers Cablenet IP and Network Integration, providing security installers with the skills to design and test an IP security solution over data networks. It covers basic network configuration to commission an IP digital network including software and cameras. It includes data networks, hardware, servers, routers, switchers, PCs and operating systems, Ethernet and ATM principles, IP products, design compression standards, public and private addresses, domain names and troubleshooting.
