Remguard Visual Management has joined forces with Optex to offer dedicated training sessions for installers on the use of the latest active and passive infrared detection devices.

The free half-day training courses will be tailored to the needs of individual installers, ensuring that their engineers are fully competent in the preparation, installation and maintenance of Optex detectors, including the Redwall.

The courses are designed to promote best practice and highlight the common pitfalls which can be readily avoided, says the two companies.

"The difference which effective training can make is often dramatic," said Remguard's RVRC director Alan Collinge.

"I know of one example where a detector protecting the rear of a site was generating over 200 false alarms a month because of wildlife – specifically rabbits. After attending the training course, and making adjustments in the height and sensitivity of the detectors, there wasn't a single false alarm."

All companies attending the training will also be provided with a free audio walk tester.

The courses will be held at RemGuard's headquarters in Warrington, Cheshire. For more information email remenquiry@remguard.co.uk, visit www.remguard.co.uk, or call 0800 736 482.
