Desperately seeking accountants

Finance people appear to be in demand, which is one reason why there is a shortage of good people to recruit ("Counting house", 19 March, page 38). I wouldn't like to comment on whether this is because of more housing associations coming into the market.

At Metropolitan, we don't offer cars or car allowances to senior level staff, but financial salaries are on a par with private companies and councils.

And to make sure we get the best applicants for financial posts, we usually go through specialist finance agencies.
