Already a leading player in Italy, after just three years on the UK market, Delta is fast becoming one of the leading names for fabrication machinery in the UK. It has done this by successfully adopting a sales and marketing strategy which makes good use of carefully selected sales and service distributors located in key regional areas within the UK and Ireland.
This idea works well in other industries, but is rarely taken up within the window and door industry. After all, why should a customer have to wait at least 36 - 48 hours for a service call just because they are located some distance away from the supplier’s sales and service centre?
Delta distributors tend to be service rather than sales-led companies, and this can only add to customer confidence that the equipment they buy will be looked after. Each of the current complement of five distributors maintains a team of three engineers within their area, so nationally the service coverage is good.
Another factor in their success has been delivery times. While six to eight weeks from order to delivery are typical for the industry, Delta delivers ex-stock in just two working days.
The full range from Delta includes saws, routers, crimpers, milling machines, welding machines, groovers, digital measuring systems, corner cleaners and fabrication tables, any of which can be individually supplied as stand-alone machines, or as part of a complete factory fit out.
According to distributor Liam Macatarskey of Protec in Ireland, ‘The real stand-out machines in my mind would be the welders. In terms of technology, fault diagnostics and the user-friendly operator console, the Delta models are hard to beat. This ready availability, coupled with the build quality made Delta an unbeatable proposition as far as Protec was concerned’.
