5:20PM Property and construction consultant wins Clare College contract

Property and construction consultant firm Dearle & Henderson has been appointed project manager on the new Clare College Cambridge scheme.

The college will get a new lecture theatre, meeting rooms and student/delegate accommodation. The plan includes a new court at the Memorial Court site to balance Thirkhill Court which was constructed in the 1950's. A new extension to the original Giles Gilbert Scott masterplan will also be added.

Dearle & Henderson secured the appointment through the work it previously carried out at Fitzwilliam College and Lucy Cavendish College in Cambridge.

Work is programmed to start this month with completion in April 2008.

In addition the firm has been appointed planning supervisor and cost consultants on the first phase of the mainly 17th Century Grade 1 listed Old Court.
