Firm links up with Steamboat to help transform Odeon into mixed use complex

DBK Back has won the QS role on the £30m redevelopment of an Odeon cinema in London's West End.

Subject to obtaining planning permission, the scheme will transform the 1930's building into a mixed use complex comprising a 4 star hotel, 20,000 sq ft of office space, a restaurant, bar and cinema.

The client is Irish developer Steamboat Developments, which bought the building in February 2006. This is the first time DBK has worked with Steamboat. The designer is Douglas Wallace Architects.

The 160,000 sq ft project is in Leicester Square, close to the cinema's better-known sister facility, the Odeon Leicester Square.
