11:50AM Consultant hires two project managers and commercial manager

DBK Back has poached two staff from rival Dunlop Haywards. Stuart Green and Chris Powell join the firm as project managers. The firm has also hired Adam Corbett, who joins as a commercial manager from Shepherd Construction.

Green, aged 32, is to project manage Wembley Central redevelopment project for client St Modwen’s. The mixed-use scheme, located above Wembley central underground and mainline station, incorporates 138,000 sq ft of retail and leisure on two levels, with three blocks of apartments, refurbished offices, and an upgrade to the tube station and public square. DBK Back has just let the first £7m construction contract to The Carey Group. The scheme will be developed in six phases with a total construction value of £42m.

Chris Powell, 24, joins the consultancy to work on another town centre redevelopment project for St Modwen in the London Borough of Enfield. Covering 23 acres, the first phase of the £100m mixed-use scheme is due for completion in 2008. In total the scheme will deliver over 410,000 sq ft of retail space, including a new food store, 55,000 sq ft of new leisure space, a bingo hall and 177 residential units. Powell will also work on Cranfields Mill in Ipswich, waterside redevelopment project for developer Wharfside Regeneration.

Corbett, 28, is to work on St James’ Retail Park in Northampton, which is undertaking a £5m refurbishment programme for British Land, and a £1.5m distribution warehouse in Aylsham, Kent for Coltham Developments.
