DBK Back on luxury Poole scheme

DBK Back has been appointed on a 115-apartment scheme in Poole, Dorset, as project manager and quantity surveyor.

The firm is acting for Midlands-based Coltham Developments, which is converting a 10-storey 1970s office block into luxury flats in a £10m project. The tenth storey will be fully replaced and an 11th floor of penthouses will be added.

DBK said it was negotiating with Mansell Construction following the contractor's success in the first stage of a two-stage procurement process, with a view to starting the building contract before year-end. Construction is scheduled to last 75 weeks.

David Ashe, senior project manager at DBK, said: "Orchard House will be one the largest new apartment schemes in Poole, and being a 1970s conversion makes the project all the more unusual."
