The WELL Building Standard, focusing on human wellbeing and updated last year, can transform occupier fit-outs

01 / The WELL Building Standard – What has changed since 2017?

In May 2017 an article in Building considered the WELL-enablement of offices – including what developers could do to enhance their base building from a WELL perspective, as well as how tenants could do likewise with their fit-outs. Since then the WELL Building Standard has been updated, with the launch in May 2018 of WELL v2. This article focuses on WELL from the tenant or occupier’s perspective, addressing those parts of the WELL standard that relate to fit-out, including how it can contribute to health and wellbeing.
