It is not surprising that only three out of 10 registered social landlords are members of crime and disorder reduction partnerships ("Associations losing out in fight against nuisance", HT 12 September, page 13).
For each partnership, there could be 10 to 20 RSLs eager to join simply because they have stock in that partnership's area. With all the other contenders for membership, only one or two RSLs can be allowed to join – hence the vast majority are excluded.
However, that should not prevent those remaining RSLs from some form of involvement through some consultative machinery or advisory group.
