A Dyno-Secure alarm installed at the company's Manchester franchise has proved an overnight success – stopping an attempted intruder during its weekend on the job.

The alarm was installed at Dysec Limited on a Friday afternoon, and the alarm set before everyone left for the weekend. But flashing lights and the internal sounder on Monday morning meant something was up, and further investigation revealed a smashed skylight and the heavy implements the criminal had employed in his attempt to break in.

Co-franchisee Peter Hamby, who runs the business with Glen Walsh, said: "When we looked at the CCTV footage we could see the criminal had scurried away the moment the alarm sounded, leaving the tools of his trade behind. The Police attended and have taken away the evidence for fingerprint analysis."
