Andrew Percival joined Taylor Woodrow in 2002 from the Royal Navy, initially as deputy project manager.

His last job prior to changing careers was as a seaman officer, commanding 40 people and running a ship worth £65m.

After joining TayWood, he had been looking to do an MBA or similar before the Interdisciplinary Management of Projects MSc became available.

He was promoted once during the course, and once subsequently and is now a public sector director responsible for business development.

‘It’s more about the management of projects than project management,’ says Percival. ‘It’s project management within a context, very much looking at where that project sits within the wider business and societal context. It accelerated my understanding of how industry works and could work and provided a means to challenge the way industry and Taylor Woodrow were working.’
