5:00pm Manufacturer to up structural sections and reverse mill plate rates due to healthy demand
Steel giant Corus has today announced £30 per tonne increases for its structural sections and is reversing mill plates ranges as of 1 October.
The firm put the hikes down to market conditions. Speaking about the structural sections increase Jonathan Sochart, general manager for sales and amrketing, said: "Construction activity in Europe has recovered this year and Corus is experiencing healthy demand for structural steel in the UK. These factors, coupled with modest stock levels in the supply chain in the UK, underpin the move to increase prices for structural sections."
