Mace, Elliott Thomas and Morgan Sindall land slices of £300m development pot
Carlyle Group has revealed the successful contractors for three student-accommodation developments in the capital, as part of its Pure Student Living joint venture with Generation Estates.
Mace will construct Pure City in Islington; Elliott Thomas will build Pure Bankside in Southwark; and Morgan Sindall has been appointed for Pure Hammersmith, at the site of the former Hammersmith Palais music venue.
Carlyle Group said the total developments were worth some £300m and be delivered during 2013 and 2014.
Managing director Mark Harris said the announcement followed the securing of some £125m in development finance.
“Over the next two years we will bring online three state-of-the-art and well-located student-accommodation facilities which will deliver over 1,400 much needed new beds into the London market,” he said.
“Mace, Elliott Thomas and Morgan Sindall are all expert contractors and we are confident that they will deliver first rate projects on time and on budget.”
The joint venture’s Pure Highbury facility in Finsbury Park completed in August and is already operational, boasting 400 beds.
