Contractor grabs prize at Building Services Golf Championship

Ken Sargent of electrical wholesaler KMS Electrical Supplies and Darren Payne of contractor R Thomson Electrical emerged victorious at the inaugural Building Services Golf Championship.

Run by EMC and BSJ magazines, the event at the Belfry was hotly contested. The sponsor’s competition winners were Paul Donnelly and Stuart Herd of Polypipe Terrain.

Finalists first saw Lee Westwood win with a flawless seven under par 65 at the final day of the Quinn Direct British Masters, before heading out on the same course the following morning.

Ryder Cup golfer Paul Broadhurst was on hand to entertain guests at the evening dinner, before giving advice and tips for the next day’s play. Luckily, the early bad weather cleared in time for the shotgun start at 8.30 am.

The finalists were all winners from the three regional events at Mere Golf and Country Club, Cheshire, Bowood Golf and Country Club, Wiltshire and Marriott Hanbury Manor, Hertfordshire.
