Out of favour procurement route picked for complex Stratford-Upon-Avon scheme
The £53m redevelopment of the Royal Shakespeare Company theatre in Straford-Upon-Avon will be built under a construction management contract, it emerged today.
An OJEU notive issued by the RSC confirmed it was looking for a construction manager for the remodelling of the Grade 11 listed theatre. The project team includes QS Gardiner & Theobald and architect Bennetts Associates.
The OJEU says that design work is well advanced ahead of planning permission being sought for the project this September. It adds that construction is due to start in autumn 2007. Contracts will be based on a bespoke form, it adds.
