The Chancellor Gordon Brown attacked composite, or managed service, companies in his recent Budget.

From 6 April for income tax and from 6 August for National Insurance, income received by workers in such companies will be subject to employed levels of tax and NI contributions.

Composite companies have been a popular vehicle for lowering tax and NI bills in the construction sector.
