The Company of Security Professionals has launched a new Sheriffs’ Award FOR Bravery to honour those individuals or organisations that have shown unusual courage in protecting “our people, property or liberty”.

The distinguished accolade is named after the country’s ancient law enforcers, the City of London Sheriffs (who still help to look after the UK’s Central Criminal Court at The Old Bailey).

Nominations are now being invited from members of the general public, businesses, the emergency services and the Armed Forces on behalf of anyone deemed to meet the appropriate criteria. The winners will be honoured at The Company’s Annual Dinner which takes place at London’s renowned Mansion House in October. There is also a £2,000 prize, and a listing in The Old Bailey’s ‘Book of Honour’.
